Ok, Sometimes I think too much.loud slap on the forehead. I belive they skip only the letter 'I' as I have a German import with a J. If you are you asking for specific lot #s that seem to display better accuaracy etc. The various HK forums are full of this kind of info. I read your message as wanting to know the year of manuf. And import info on your HK. Think, Plan, Train, Be Safe.

I was able to save boo-coo dinero by going that route. Many NIB P7M8s now list for $1200.00 & up. They may not sell for that much, but they're being asked for that high. Damn fine guns! Just like everything else with HK, it seems one hand never knows what the other hand is doing. They say they are discontinued but yet they are still making limited runs of them, hence the AG guns showing up. The SOCOM Mk 23 is also supposed to be discontinued but still the colored framed ones keep showing up and are anything but rare.
It was said the ss guns were DCed also, but it turns out they are only no longer imported into the US. And the USC and SL-8 are still alive and well overseas. I am about ready to quit trying to figure out what HK is doing or if and when they will do anything, making or DCing them. They seem to contradict themselves at every turn but I would wager if you want a P7-M8, get it while the getting is good. I agree, Arlington, Chantilly, and Sterling are a lot more classy sounding than Trussville.
But I do imagine they would be pretty silly choosing a location based only upon the way it sounds. There is 'AG' P7M8's Trussville AL. Also next to the HK logo is the 'JS' in a circle.which is the hunting & sporting section of H&K P7M13 are still imported to Canada. Only thing there is that the dealer needs to pin the mag to a 10 round cap. Also no silly import markings on the slide of those. The P7M8 is not DC'ed in Germany and will not as long as it is still in police use.
And Bavaria is still using them. Just as the Walther P5 is still in limited production over there since the Dutch/Netherland police and one German 'Land' police are still using them. The P7M8 is not DC'ed in Germany and will not as long as it is still in police use. And Bavaria is still using them. Just as the Walther P5 is still in limited production over there since the Dutch/Netherland police and one German 'Land' police are still using them. I didn't know the Germans used the P7M8, I thought they used the original P7. The story I herd was that H&K had to change the magazine release before any US police force would adopt the P7, and now, the German police use the American style P7M8. Yes at some point they went to the P7M8 also.
Remeber how there was all those police trades??? Well there was a lot of M8's with the ugly square mill mark on the slide. current models of Walther's in Police service is P99/AS and P99/DAO. H&K has currently the P2000 and P30 approved for police work over there.and then there is some Sig's also. Remeber that the Germans buy those in bulk and officers are not allowed to carry their own. So the 'Land' (state) buys one model and all officers are issued that one.
Heckler Koch Date of Manufacturer Date Codes If you own a Heckler Koch product, you may be wondering what those numbers and letters stamped on the receiver mean. Well, the two letter code refers to the year the weapon was made. MP5/40 MP5 as described above chambered in.40 S&W. After U.S 'law enforcement agencies' determined that they had screwed up with the 10mm Auto cartridge, they decided that the.40 S&W would be better.
So, this version of the submachine gun was also designed for sale to U.S. 'law enforcement agencies'. This version of the submachine gun is identical to the standard 9x19mm version except for the chamber specification and a different magazine.
I picked up my 13th HK P7 in Lodi this morning, a NIB P7M13 with 'IH' (1987) datecode, and decided to take photos of them all, grouped by model. First up, the one that started it all, the P7 PSP. My 'IA' (1980) one has been hard-chromed by Tripp Research, but my 'IC' is blued. Next, the P7M8. I have a pair of consecutive serial-numbered Jubilees (in the foreground).
The other two are 'KF' (1995) models, one of which was hard-chromed by Tripp Research. The P7M13 comes next, and represents the first P7 that broke away from the single-stack paradigm.
The one I picked up this morning is on the left. I had my 'KB' (1991) one hard-chromed by Tripp Research. The other is a 'KD' (1993) model. After the.40 Auto cartridge rose to popularity, the P7M13 was retrofitted to handle it, with a slide of much greater mass.
Note that my blued one, with a 'KC' (1992) datecode, is the 101st made, based on its serial number. It is also one of only 1,000 or so made, in terms of blued models. My other one is also a 'KC' model, and was originally in factory nickel. I had that stripped off, then hard-chromed by Tripp Research. Someday I'd like to get one of those P7's. Have held one at my local gun store and it felt very solid.
BTW, the quality of your pictures is outstanding! I'm gonna have to upgrade to a better camera. You'll need to pick up the pace on that dream - the P7M8's out of production now, and falls off the 'safe gun' roster later this year, and then you'll be stuck with whatever you can find used, in the state. (assuming you're still in CA) I'd been itching to get one since a HK Day at Targetmasters, and finally got around to ordering one in from NJ this week. It should arrive at Irvington Arms next week, and then just 10 more days 'till it's mine!:D.
You collect P7s like I collect S&W N-frames. Only at 6 N-frames currently but that will one day change with 4-5 other guns still on my purchase list. I do want an HK P7 though, it's the one gun from HK that I think warrants the price. Sweet little gems of guns, great triggers, point very well, and accurate to boot.
I've been a 2 gun person for a long time, 1911s and N-frames. But I do want an HK P7 to add to the collection, I'm just pissed I never got one back before Jan 2000 so I could have gotten a M13 with several mags. I have heard mixed 'things' about Nicks. Have you any experience with him other than transfers? I'm not trying to stir the pot, just looking for someone who may be able to take a look at my registered HK91 clone for some mag-well/feeding concerns. It seems that with the onslaught of new AW registration, even some 'in-the-know' gunsmiths are hesitant or weary to look at anone's black rifles; when in fact it's perfectly legal for them to work on them while the weapon's owner is in house.
Just what the banners wanted. Beautiful pistolas, Doctor!
